Playa d´en Bossa
At almost three kilometres long, Playa d’en Bossa is one of the most famous and cosmopolitan beaches of the whole island. It is found in the south-east half of the Ibizan coast, very near to the city of Ibiza and the airport, making it one of the most important tourist areas of the island. On its shores, we find all kinds of establishments, offering the best services to beachgoers.
Playa d’en Bossa is certainly ideal for those seeking all kinds of services, as there are nautical schools for hiring the necessary materials for sailing or learning to plough through the waves on a windsurfing board; or if you prefer something calmer, you can also enjoy the most glamourous chill out areas or hire a simple hammock. The range of hotels and restaurants is of course the most varied, with the beach clubs being especially notable – fashionable establishments where music and fun are combined, becoming the sensation of the Ibizan summer. Ultimately, Playa d’en Bossa includes all possibilities that any visitor may desire in the unique environment of the Ibizan coast
Ses Salines is one of the most beautiful beaches in Ibiza and forms part of the Ses Salines d’Eivissa i Formentera Natural Park. The beach begins from Sa Punta de Ses Portes and its sandbanks reach Sa Canal. Ses Salines is a fashionable, very popular beach thanks to the atmosphere its restaurants and beach bars provide. There is nothing like relaxing in one of its hammocks. It has an open beach of a considerable length, with fine sand, a turquoise sea and shallow seabed with a gentle slope. With the meadows of posidonia oceanica declared as World Heritage, the whole coast is surrounded by leafy vegetation and junipers protected by the white, undulating dunes, shaped by a gentle breeze that blows from the sea to the land.
On this beach there is a place for all kinds of water activities, from windsurfing to paddle surfing. Additionally, this beautiful beach has one of Ibiza’s watchtowers, the Torre de Ses Portes, at the end of the beach. Going to visit this tower may be a pleasant morning walk.
Located on the west coast of Ibiza, Playa de Cala Conta (Cala Comte) is a set of small coves, each one with its own identity and atmosphere, being one of the most picturesque areas of the island. It is without doubt a unique place, due to the incredible sunset which can be viewed from here, made even more spectacular when the various islets that decorate this coast are in the twilight facing the backdrop of the red sky. Another element that makes the place unique are its crystal clear waters which invite you to swim. It is a natural paradise within reach, and the clarity of its waters also make it a perfect place for snorkelling.
In this unique natural landscape, there are many corners that you must explore. In the most western area is Racó d’en Xic, a small nudist beach. In the central area are the two largest coves and three peaceful restaurants by the sea whose gastronomy and views you will be able to enjoy. Following the coast, there is a small jetty and shipyard huts. Those who enjoy walking can visit the Torre d’en Rovira.
Cala d’Hort is probably one of the most charming coves in the municipality of Sant Josep, located in a protected natural environment in the south-east of Ibiza, with few buildings. It has just a few restaurants with seafood and Mediterranean cuisine and typical fishermen’s huts. Its crystal clear waters invite you to dive in, and its romantic wooden pier is ideal for sitting and contemplating the enigmatic islet of Es Vedrà, one of the most acclaimed landscapes of the island which will surely fascinate you.
The most anticipated moment for everyone who visits this fascinating beach is its famous sunset. It is a spectacle for the eyes, which becomes something more magical when it is accompanied by the legendary islet of Es Vedrà.
The experience will be more than satisfactory, but you may wish to make the most of it beyond swimming or sunbathing on its peaceful shore. One of the most recommended activities for appreciating everything that this area has to offer is kayaking, a watersport that will allow you to take a trip by sea and approach the islets of Es Vedrà and Es Vedranell to appreciate their enormity more closely.
On the rugged coast of the island of Ibiza we find the enormous beach of Cala Llonga, a residential and tourist area that forms a small town on the shores of this cove. The beach has a large sandbank which allows you to easily find a place to put out your towel to sunbathe, although you will also have the possibility of hiring a hammock to enjoy the day in full comfort. The peaceful atmosphere of the area and the calm waters of the cove, thanks to it being hidden at the bottom of a small bay, make it the ideal tourist area for families.
This area is found between the towns of Jesús and Santa Eulalia, the main towns from which this marvellous cove is accessed. Here we also find accommodation on the beachfront and various establishments which offer their services so that visitors do not have to leave the area to cover their needs. In addition to various restaurants and bars, there is also the possibility of practicing watersports such as scuba diving, thanks to the school found here, certainly a very interesting option, although its simple Mediterranean beauty makes this cove an ideal option for any kind of activity by the sea.
Cala Bassa is located on the west coast of Ibiza. It is an easy to access beach with parking, if you are arriving by road. Another good option for spending the day in the sun at the beach is to take a ferry from the town of Sant Antoni de Portmany. In summer the journeys are daily.
This is a beach in the form of a bay. It is an authentic natural swimming pool with fine sand, and clear, calm, shallow turquoise waters, ideal for having fun as a family and with children.
Cala Bassa is surrounded by cliffs on both sides and a pine and juniper forest which reaches the edge of the sandbank. It invites you to take enjoyable walks. Likewise, on the shores of the beach jet skis can be hired, and you can snorkel or take a beginner’s windsurfing class.
The beach has a wide range of gastronomy for all tastes and a hammock area to enjoy a well-deserved siesta in the shade, relaxing and having a privileged panoramic view of the sea.
Port des Torrent
On the west coast of Ibiza are some of the most beautiful beaches of the whole island, especially all those which have the colours of the sunset. One of these is Port des Torrent, a beach found on the coasts of the municipality of Sant Josep, but also very near to the town of Sant Antoni. This place is characterised by being an old natural port located at the outlet of a stream, with an immense pine forest bordering the sandy area. It is easily accessed by both road and sea, as there is a small quay that connects the beach with Sant Antoni thanks to the boats which cover this line.
Port des Torrent has all necessary conveniences for a great day in the sun with the family, as it has access walkways, pedalos, hammocks and a lifeguard so that you can swim in full safety. In its surroundings, there are restaurant terraces with different styles of cuisines, and souvenirs, although practically the whole area is perfectly integrated into nature. This picture postcard is completed with a small separated area with fishermen’s huts, typical of the Ibizan landscape.
